Demo4show Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 Get in here guys.... Lets share our update. I am still waiting for several decisions. I applied to like seven CHE PHD (7) programs.
Dengem Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Thanks for initiating this discussion. Looks like Delaware sent out offers in early December. Berkeley and Cal Tech have scheduled interviews so far.
Demo4show Posted December 28, 2022 Author Posted December 28, 2022 I applied to Delaware. I am yet to get a decision from them. I also saw people on reddit with admit from Purdue, MIT ChemE interview, and U Florida.
Jaideep_2412 Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Hey everyone! I applied to around 12 places, heard back from Virginia and Notre Dame. No word from anyone else, the anxiety is killing me! Nice to see I'm not alone in this predicament. Good luck to all of you!
Dengem Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Looks like Michigan and Illinois have also sent acceptances.
Dengem Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Has anyone heard from Princeton, Columbia or UMass? Penn State, Carnegie Mellon and UPenn have sent acceptances.
thorosoni Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Here are the programs I applied to (all for ChemE PhD): - Georgia Tech: admitted! - Stanford: rejected - MIT: admitted! - UC Berkeley: admitted! - Caltech: interviewed, waiting to hear back (though probably rejected because some people have already got acceptances) - Princeton: waiting to hear back
Dengem Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Congratulations! That's an impressive list list. Can you share your stats - they must be stellar. Hope you got into Princeton too, they've started sending acceptances out.
thorosoni Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Yep, just got the acceptance letter from Princeton as well a couple days ago! Brief overview of my stats: - 4.0 GPA at T20 university (though not really known for its engineering) - 2.5 years of research experience, one project with my university and one at a national lab - 1 first-author publication in pretty high-impact journal - 3 conference presentations - 2 AIChE ASC poster competition awards My research interests are in energy & sustainability (high-efficiency photovoltaics, electrocatalysis for decarbonizing chemical processes, etc).
Dengem Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Thanks for sharing your impressive stats. Good luck with grad school.
