UW-Madison IE PhD vs. OSU CS PhD?

Hi everyone!

I'm hesitating about which program to choose.   My potential advisors from these programs are both very nice person and got really strong publication records.

 

OSU:
Pros:
1.   The advisor is a young rising AP and is more hands-on in terms of advising style.   I think I can learn a lot by doing research with him and should be able to make better publications during my PhD time.
2.   CS PhD Might be better than IE PhD?

Wisc:
Pros:
1.   The advisor is a respected full professor.   He is more of a chill and hands-off type, I can tell he cares and supports his students very much (will support me in exploring various directions that I like).   But also this means I need to make great efforts to publish good articles on my own.
2.   The IE department in Wisc has a high reputation.
3.   I am a master's student in Wisc, so I can transfer credits.   I can graduate earlier.

 

No cons for these two programs coz I like them both and I feel so lucky to have this "sweet worries", ; D.

Any advice will be really appreciated, thank you so much!!!

Okie I think I'll go with Wisc., after talking more with the advisor I think I should really join his team. YAY!
