Preliminary decision

I just checked the website to see if they updated my application status. I saw a new message that wasn't there before. It says that a "preliminary decision has been reached on your application. Please click the link below under Decision status to view your decision." I can't seem to find the link. Does "preliminary decision" mean waitlist?

I think perhaps it means that you were accepted by your department, but that the graduate school needs to sign off on everything before you can officially be given a nod. That is just my opinion...good luck!

Well, looks like they've made a decision on your file, but there's some sort of technical error. I would e-mail or call them to ask in-person... You never know when the IT guy would be around to fix the system!
