PhD for a job out of academics

I want to ask open question:

do you think a US phd can be of use for a job outside the academic sector: banking, responsibility role in firm?

Do you know some combined PhD MBA programs?

What about a quantitave PhD (mathematics, Engineering, Econometrics) to work in IB? (ex. PhD in top US school Stanford Yale + CFA)

I am sure some of you can react bringing details of their experience.

No experiences to share, but the reason that academic salaries as much as they do across disciplines is because of private sector demand.

Finance PhDs can be of significant value in the private sector, but schools do not favor non-academic placements, so i wouldnt highlight it too much in your applications, if that is your goal.
