tragicsalad Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Anyone else heard back from East Asian Languages at Columbia? I've tried e-mailing several people listed on the departmental website, including a professor with whom I was in contact last fall. Nothing. I noticed on the results search that one person's gotten a rejection via website as of last week... This is a terrible waiting game, as it's the last of my schools to hear back from. So far three rejections - and the weight of the next year hangs in the balance!
starvinggrad Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 No response on this end. I'm guessing I was waitlisted if not rejected. Best of luck to you.
venusfueri Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Has ANYONE heard anything for this year yet? I feel like Columbia is acting like that freaky monolith from that Stanley Kubrick movie, 2001: Space Odyssey

I am interested to move onto a PhD program in East Asian Lit...I have soooooo many questions about the whole process and have been looking for people interested in the same field to gain some further knowledge about the whole venture. I did my undergrad and MA in the States (Soka University of America, small liberal arts school, for my undergra; the Eastern Classics porgram at St. John's College, Santa Fe, for my terminal MA). I am now back home in the UK planning my next move. I got a lot of language study to perfect- Japanese and CHinese obviously! If you wouldn't mind sharing your experience of applying for MA/PhD programs in the US I'd love to hear them... @ craigciosk@gmai.com Many thanks and all the best for 2010! Craig
