mejoiningtoo Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I'm considering my two offers now and I like them both. Really hard to decide. Carnegie Mellon has a great name and University of Minnesota has a great prof thought I'm not sure whether I can get into his lab.
aggie Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I did my summer intern at CMU, and the place sucks big time. It is utterly boring and depressive if it is important for you.
anese Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 I did my summer intern at CMU, and the place sucks big time. It is utterly boring and depressive if it is important for you. I graduated from CMU--loved my experience. I can tell you that your experience over the summer is pretty representative of every summer at that school...I have lots of friends who worked or interned/stayed over the summer and found it really depressing and dead. The college atmosphere of the city turns off for the most part, and most people feel to rushed with summer courses or their internship load to take time out for anything fun. I sent a PM with my own experiences/knowledge of CMU and the campus to ijointoo...couldn't see my alma mater get only one response with a bad review
