xkf Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Hi, I'm in the process of applying to MA programs and was wondering about the significant differences between writing SOPs for PhD programs and MA programs. I'm guessing the biggest difference would be to write less about research interests and more about possible future career paths, am I far off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
LJK Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Your question has come up before but is hidden inside another topic: Look about half way down. It really depends on what kind of MA program you are applying to. I'm currently in a psychology MS program where research is the main focus. Other schools and other disciplines focus exclusively on coursework. Learn about your target programs and express how that program is perfect for you based on that programs focus and strengths.
