Hey all!

A phd friend recommended I post on here. I plan to focus on contemporary comparative political sociology (social movement strategy and theory), focusing on the trans-national immigrant movement in the US and the intersections of NGOs, political parties, etc. within it.

I applied to UCLA and Austin and am applying to UCSD, NYU, Columbia, CUNY, Harvard, and U of Penn, so if you recommend any professors, grad students, or on- or off-campus resources (research centers, NGOs, etc.) to look into at those universities and in those areas let me know!

Also, if anyone has any time to look over my personal statement (link), and give me any feedback, please let me know (this was my UCLA statement but I plan to keep it similar for the others and modify the fit part).

Best,

Nikolai Smith

Whoa, your statement and accomplishments look awesome. I'm glad we aren't applying to the same programs.
