I am looking at Stanford CEE MS courses. The website tells me that this requires a minimum of 45 units of study. What period of time does this realistically translate to? I am from Ireland and know very little about the US system.

As I understand it, 'units' means quarter-hours. I think they say that the 45 units is normally completed in nine months, so that means each quarter you take 5 classes at 3 credit hours each. Obviously that's pretty intense so I think quite a few people take longer to do it.
