nootnoot1 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Hello, I am applying for admission to a technical graduate degree now. I am posting here because in the process of my application, especially essay writing, I found it necessary and worthwhile for me to sharpen my English composition skills somehow. Admittedly I am a nonnative speaker, but since I have been learning English for a long time and recently got 650 on the GRE verbal section, I feel like taking some online English writing courses not specifically addressing the needs of nonnative speakers. More importantly, I want to do some writing and get scholarly feedback from others. Any recommendations? Thanks
Gingermick Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 UCLA extension has some online writing courses in their catalogue. I haven't taken them, but you can look there. UMass online also has tons of online courses.
aginath Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Columbia hosted a BreakWriting listserv that just ended. However, you might find some useful information in the archives. http://www.columbia.edu/cu/gsas/pages/cstudents/dean/break-writing/index.html
