rein Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) This is my first post on the forum and I see that there are not that many posts in architecture! I hope I can get some information. Anyway, I have applied to five programs this year for the three year program. I spent a huge amount of time on my applications. I graduated with a BFA in photography and I took the summer program at Berkeley last year. So I am hoping to at least get into a couple of my choices. That being said, I graduated from the University of British Columbia and I have always been interested in living outside of the US. Studying is often much cheaper that way too... I'm terrified of falling $150k in debt. I have done a lot of research and I basically found no options for architecture internationally considering that I am coming from an unrelated discipline. I know UBC and Toronto have the three year option. It seems like even McGill and other Canadian universities can accomodate a four year option (two years undergrad, two years grad). I am inquiring into the Oslo School of Architecture because they might be willing to set up something similar. The Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam offers a four year program. This would be a dream come true, however only one of the four years is taught in English. Outside of what I have listed, I have found nothing. Not even in the UK or Australia. This is very difficult to research though, so I am hopeful that there are some good options that I have not come across. Is there anyone out there who might know more? Edited January 18, 2011 by rein
wreckofthehope Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I thought the Bartlett School at UCL in London allowed you onto an M.Arch without the BA in Architecture... but I may be mis-remembering. It's also an absolutely amazing school! This is my first post on the forum and I see that there are not that many posts in architecture! I hope I can get some information. rein Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 Thanks for this... I had even looked into Bartlett, but only at the standard diploma program. I do indeed like what I have read about their programs. It appears that their M.Arch in Urban Design is open to outside disciplines, but I am afraid that it is similar to the other international options that I have found. The description online is very brief, but I am sure that it isn't anywhere near the equivalent of a three year M.Arch in North America. It seems to have a very broad focus and it is only 12 months long. Perhaps it is similar to the Interprofessional Studio at the AA School. I will look into it and post if I come to a different conclusion. I am really starting to realize that there just aren't any options overseas... I thought the Bartlett School at UCL in London allowed you onto an M.Arch without the BA in Architecture... but I may be mis-remembering. It's also an absolutely amazing school!

Hennreypaul Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Decaf I'll suggest you to decide first what you have to do in future that is first you should plan what is you aim.
Hennreypaul Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 First the field should should be decided in which you are interested that is wheteher you are interested in Architecture or engineering. prix immobilier montpellier
