Does anyone know how result notifications for EE programs generally work? Do they first sent out a batch of acceptances one week (possibly those with fellowships tied in), a batch of acceptances without good funding some time later, and then finally the huge batch of rejects?

For example, I saw that a bunch of people who applied to the same program I applied to posted that they were accepted today and yesterday on the results list. If I still have not received anything, should I be worried?

Thanks!

It really depends. Some schools only send out one round of acceptances and then send out batch rejects later on. Others have more than one round of acceptances. What you can do is look on the gradcafe survey results from last year for the programs you applied to - that'll give you an idea if your schools tend to only send out 1 round of acceptances.

EE seems to be one of the later areas to receive notification. I'm assuming you're talking about Stanford admitting some students the last couple of days, and this is unusual for them based on previous years. And yes, generally acceptances will come in February while rejections will come in March, for a lot of programs.

Oh man...this thread echoes my sentiments exactly! Its quite irritating waiting for the decisions to come out when you log into the grad cafe survey page everyday and tons of other people are getting admitted.

Is it true that PhD admit decisions are made before MS admit decision? All the admits seem to be PhDs.....i've applied for MS in ECE....... i hope it comes out soon.......i'm tearing my hair out!!

I think in a lot of cases this is true. Be aware that 2 years ago when I applied for my M.S. degree I didn't hear anything from any of my schools until mid-march. You may hear sooner than that, but put yourself in that sort of mindset and the next couple of months will be a lot more pleasant for you. :)
