etown989 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I have been looking everywhere on this site and googling it to find the answer, but yet to find it. My question is for grad schools how is your gpa calculated in terms of retaking a class.? I know for law schools if you got an F then retook it for an A they count both grades. Do grad schools do it the same way or do they just count the top grade?
aginath Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 This is generally a school-based decision and every institution handles it differently.
cherubie Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Isn't this also based on how your undergraduate institution does it? With the exception of law and medical school, I haven't heard of other graduate schools "uncovering" retakes. On my transcript, I retook organic chemistry, the first one is marked with an R and only the second grade shows.
