I'm currently on the hunt for universities that offer funding programs for international students pursuing their master's degree. My primary goal is to apply for a Ph.D. program in Business Management, specifically targeting the TOP 20 schools. However, if I face rejections, I'm considering applying to U.S. master's programs in various fields such as Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, etc.
I've heard that completing a master's in the U.S. can provide international students with advantages like better acclimatization to the U.S. environment and improved English proficiency, which can be beneficial when applying for Ph.D. programs later on. However, I'm also aware that many U.S. master's programs offer limited funding.
A bit about my background: I graduated top of my class from a prestigious university in South Korea and have a high GRE score. My strengths lie in my academic achievements and several research experiences. Given these credentials, I wonder if I could leverage them to secure funding at a more affordable state university.
So far, I've come across programs like the MDP program at the University of Minnesota, the University of Memphis, and the University of New Haven that offer some funding. I'm curious if there are other universities, perhaps in North Carolina or Texas, that provide similar opportunities which I might not be aware of.
Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
