Dory. Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Hello! Is pursuing a Fulbright foreign student scholarship in a good state school, like Penn State, worth more than studying at a top school, like Georgetown, in a city full of opportunities (assuming I can secure funding)? I'm interested in Education Policy, and I'm also wondering what are your thoughts on choosing between an education policy degree and a public policy degree? I'm also worried that the US curriculum would be very US-centric, as I'm an international student. Would highly appreciate your thoughts! nursa 1
Kevinetude Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 (edited) Congrats on receiving Fulbright! Anyways, for an international student, I think a key factor in making the choice lies in whether the university is recognized in your home country. I understand that, given your example, Penn State has a quite good QS ranking, while Georgetown has a distinguished reputation for academic and professional development in policy studies. In this case, you may take into account your career pathways beyond grad school to choose between good state schools and top private schools. Edited December 15, 2023 by Kevinetude
