HarryLostHere Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Hi guys, I'm currently going through the application process for Stats/IEOR PhD programs. For now my interest lies in quant finance, and trying to study something related to the application of algorithms of ML and its application of finance. However, the more I read about the discussion the more I worry about my listed schools. So I wonder if you guys could provide some suggestions on my potential schools (reach, target and safeties). Thanks a lot, and the following is my profile: Undergrad: BU Major: BA in Stats (Major GPA 3.7+, Overall GPA ~3.5+) Minor: Computer Science GRE: Q: 170 V: 156 Graduate: An Ivy IEOR program in NJ/NY Major: MS in IEOR/ORIE (GPA: 3.4+) Research Experience: Had 2 research assistant positions in grad school, doing mainly data wrangling for profs, but no publishes. Intern Experience: Had one contractor role in a quant fund, and maybe I can ask for my supervisor for an recommendation letter. Many thanks for your ideas and suggestions. Jim VK 1
