AM123 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Anyone applying to the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College Cuny? Apparently, they have been engaging in an illegal and discriminatory admissions process for years and not following affirmative action laws. Anyone who applied in previous years when they didnt follow the laws and didnt get accepted, do you plan on suing for discrimination? Perhaps there should be a class action lawsuit against them. Now that affirmative actions laws are no longer in play and they can no longer consider race or ethnicity (which they have been considering up until now but not in a way that the laws allowed them to), does anyone know if they are complying with the laws? Has their admissions process changed since the laws changed? For any current student on this forum, how is the program? What are the professors like? What kind of fieldwork placement do you get and can you choose the agency you get placed at? Is it worth applying to the program? Why or why not? TIA
Ayc24 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Did anyone apply by the deadline (Feb 1)? Are they already doing interviews or are applicants being accepted without an interview? If they require interviews, then what is it like? Are the interviews in person or online? What kind of questions are they asking? Does it include a writing sample and if so, what does it entail? And did the program address what op said about their admissions process? Did they update their admissions process to ensure compliance in the laws?
