LochNess Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) Do not study medieval art at case western. A lot of issues there. Edited January 10 by LochNess Professionalism
columba Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Aghh can you please elaborate either here or in a PM? I applied to their PhD program and feeling a bit worried now...
AnodyneBalloon Posted May 3 Posted May 3 A former student chiming in to support LochNess here! Lots of ethics and professionalism problems and a very unhealthy environment for students. The PhD dropout rate for medievalists *specifically* is high at case western. I'd advise prospective students not to trust the heavily curated promotional posts put out by the department and its grad student association or even promises made to you during interviews by faculty members. Take care of yourselves and look elsewhere. LunarEcho 1
LunarEcho Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I am another former student at CWRU and I am chiming in to support AnodyneBalloon and LochNess. Please do not attend this program. Someone on GradCafe warned me about a certain professor there before I enrolled, and I did not heed their advice and I truly regretted it. Not only did it wasted my time, but my experience was so destructive that I don't think I will stay in this discipline. They failed me so badly. I did not feel being listened to and cared for, and favoritism was very obvious. I was made feeling small and stupid, which I know I am not. Really, it was just awful. Please please please do not do medieval art at CWRU.
