I studied abroad one summer to further study a rather uncommon language for which I have a passion. I was put in the highest level class, but during some of the exams, I was in the hospital and could not take them. As such, my final grade for the course reads "79/100" on their transcript. Although this language is not my major, I am using it as a complement for resume and admissions purposes in order to show strong proficiency in a foreign language for international relations/security studies programs.

I was worrying if this fact would hurt me in this context. My GPA is a 3.85 and have no C's otherwise. The class was 3 credit hours that transferred as a language elective on my institution's transcript without a grade. Does anyone think this could adversely affect the adcom's perception of my language competency?

Thank you for all the great knowledge on this forum.
