I'm applying to linguistics PhD programs this year and out of 7 applications so far I've only had 1 interview. Since it's February 1st, and for most of those schools I've already seen people post their interview requests, should I assume that I'm no longer in the running for those schools? Or is it still possible for me to get an interview/acceptance without an interview?
Also, I've noticed that the interview requests I've seen posted so far/on the earlier side are predominantly international students. Is that due to population bias on this site or are international applications interviewed earlier?
