Hello! I am towards the end of my second year of study earning a Literature BA at a small liberal arts college. (note: I'm worried that the insignificance of my school will also negatively affect if I'm considered for more prestigious programs) I've been thinking about the future a lot and I am really drawn to the idea of pursuing graduate studies in comparative literature.
I am of course a Literature major (general), I have a 3.9 GPA, and I am studying French and Latin at my school (as well planning to possibly begin to study another language my senior year, perhaps Russian or Spanish or Japanese?). I am also a Writing Fellow/tutor employed through my school. I am wondering what I can be doing outside of my basic academics to be more desirable to Comp. Lit. MA and PHD programs. I am looking into being my school's version of an RA (a Peer Counselor) and being a part of the Educational Policies Committee of our student government, but I'm not sure if these will matter to Grad admissions departments and what else I should be doing! Should I be trying to study abroad? Fulbright scholarships? More leadership positions? What kinds of internships would be good? Thank you so much for any help/suggestions!
(of course I can also talk to my academic advisor about this, I'm just also quite reserved haha)
