Johns Hopkins SAIS 2024

Hi everyone,

 

I haven't seen a dedicated thread for the JHU SAIS Fall 2024 cohort, so I thought I'd create one! We're only a day out from hearing back, so wanted to check in and see how everyone is feeling and if there are are any questions/thoughts that we can collectively address.

I applied to the MAIR program at the DC campus, but said I would be open to either Bologna or DC. According to the 2020 and 2021 threads, some people's application checklist disappeared from their portal leading up to the release of decisions, kind of seen as a preemptive sign that they were admitted, but mine still has the checklist... can anyone else chime in about how their portal looks right now?

My checklist is also still there! But I think something from the top has changed? I don't remember exactly what the whole page used to look like but I think it's different - noticed it about a week ago maybe. It could just be my imagination playing tricks on me from the stress of waiting though!

Yeah, that's definitely changed for me too. The top half of the page disappeared, but checklist still there. Have you applied to any other IR programs?

The wait is killing me!!

I don't think theres been any change in my portal homepage. I can still see the checklist.

Usually results were out by now in previous years 😭

Maybe it’s something to do with the fafsa delays?

I know… I didn’t get any sleep last night. Have you heard back from any other schools? I’m into GWU Elliott, but rejected from Georgetown SSP.

no word on funding yet though

Just got an email re funding. 
20k per year. Disappointing because that still leaves about 75k per year.

Any folks apply for the DIA program? Any news?

I got accepted into both JH SAIS and Georgetown SSP. SAIS gave me 30K Dean's scholarship vs 6K from GT merit-based aid which make SAIS more affordable. However I like SSP better so I'm gonna try to negotiate to see if GT will give me more money.

It should be in the online application it’ll say “an update has been posted”. Congrats to everyone who got accepted

Thanks. Do we know if all the acceptance notifications have gone out? My status hasn’t changed yet.

I got my rejection this morning 🙃 so hopefully it’s a good sign you haven’t gotten yours yet

I am sorry to hear Abby, hopefully next year...

When I logged in it simply gave me the opportunity to click on a status update and it showed the letter. 

I'd love to set up some sort of group online to meet everyone ahead of next year.
