Question

Hi everyone!

I’m a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, double majoring in statistics and data science. I’m beginning to apply for master's programs, with a keen interest in statistics, especially in probability theory and its applications. My top choice is to continue at UW for their MS in Statistics program due to my familiarity with the faculty, lower in-state costs, and available funding. However, it's a highly selective program.

Here’s a quick overview of my credentials:

GPA: 3.9, initially started in mechanical engineering before switching to statistics and data science.

Internship: This summer at Johnson Controls in Milwaukee as a data science intern.

Teaching Experience: 3 years as an undergraduate TA for an engineering lab.

Leadership: Vice president of UW's Data Science Club.

Projects: Includes sports statistical analysis, machine learning, database design, and a diversity analysis project for the UW athletics department.

While I'm hopeful about returning to UW, I understand the need to consider other programs too. Does anyone have recommendations for other statistics master's programs that align with my background?

Thanks for your help!
