Accepted at UofT, Mac, Western (and Western aud). I'll be rejecting Western aud today, so hopefully that opens up a spot for someone. No news from Dal atp.

Mac has been my first choice because of their PBL program and the small cohort... does anyone know how the clinical aspects measure up to the other schools? I know Western has the in-house clinic + cadaver lab for example.

i shadowed an slp who went to mac and she convinced me to apply there as i was not planning on it before. she said that she thought mac grads were the most prepared for clinical because of the way they learn in class. she said that since they do case studies and navigate it in groups essentially, the students adjusted better when it came time to clinical, as the case studies were like real patients in a way.

i didn’t get accepted to mac, but she did change my mind to applying there this year! if that’s any help at all hahaha

That is super helpful!  That's the impression that I got from the virtual preview day, which is what bumped it up to the top of my list. I'm very into the hands-on/case study learning aspect, and I liked how they mentioned involving a community SLP mentor for the small groups.

It's reassuring to hear that someone who's actually in the field and wasn't specifically asked to rep the program says the same thing haha.

Does anyone have insight into the social aspect of the different schools? Of course there's the difference in class sizes, but what about feelings of community, social events, support, etc.

in the past they've taken a couple days to get back to people regardless of acceptance, waitlist, or rejection, so no need to panic!!! :)

do you know how much later they do rejections? Or are we just waiting for waitlist and more acceptances?

I believe acceptances and waitlists come out first then rejections a few days later, but I'm not completely sure!

Congrats!! I'm wondering if your ORPAS is now inaccessible after you rejected Western aud? I rejected Western SLP and now can't get into my account. I called and they said it's normal but I'm still scared lol

Hi everyone! Current 1st year UofT student here. Just popping in to congratulate everyone who is getting acceptances and waitlists - for those still waiting, don’t lose hope! :) I am always available to answer any questions about UofT. And, if you are deciding between schools - I went through that really tough process last year as well and can provide insight if needed! Congrats again everyone!!
