So, I got accepted to both Western and UofA! As an Ontario resident, I am leaning Western although the idea of moving out west is really intriguing. Any thoughts?

Hi Everyone! I plan on applying to SLP programs in the fall of 2026.

I am an ON resident and was wondering if there is any point applying to UBC. Has any from Ontario or out of province been admitted to UBC. It seems they reserve most seats for in province applicants and if I'm understanding the application requirements correctly it seems applicants also need to take online UBC courses AUDI 402 and 403.

I would love to apply to UBC but only if I had a realistic chance of being admitted.

hi! not an out of province applicant so i can't speak on that, but UBC is changing their pre-requisites - you don't have to take AUDI 402 and 403 if your uni has an equivalent human anatomy/physiology course! can't seem to post links but the 'undergraduate preparation' portion of the UBC website has more details

Thanks for this. I will look into this more. Not sure it'll be easy to find equivalents though, so doubt I can apply 😞

typically the programs will post a list with all of the accepted equivalents that your school offers, so its pretty easy just have to do some digging. I have heard though that UBC reserves 90% of spots for BC residents, not 100% sure though.

sorry can i ask for clarification? do you mean you got off the waitlist and received an offer, or were you put on the wait list?

I got accepted off of the waitlist at McGill this morning at 6:30 am mountain time!

Can anyone tell me if McGill requires a tuition deposit? I am still hoping to hear back from UofA, but McGill has asked me to confirm my offer ASAP.
