Hi! For anyone applying to Dal, how are you submitting a 3rd reference? They say you must submit 2 professional references and can submit 1 personal. In part 1 of the application, the referee section only allows you to add institution emails. So how would I submit my personal reference who is not a professor?

Thank you in advance :)

Hi! I was also wondering this.. were you able to find it?

Hi! Any chance you figured this out? I am running into the same issue. I emailed them and was sent a link to a tutorial of someone filling out the application which did not help unfortunately as they have a "referees" section in the video...

Hey guys! I know someone asked about month ago, but I am wondering whether anyone has been able to find the second part (volunteer experiences) of the SOI for U of T. Or has anyone contacted them to ask if that is still apart of the application? I don't believe they accept a CV either, so I am wondering whether they consider volunteer work at all? Thanks :)

Hey! Not sure if this has been answered but UofT is still not looking at volunteer experiences, so we dont have to include this in the application. If you have any experience, you add it in with the statement of intent. I emailed them to ask where to send in a CV/that volunteer section and this is what the person told me!

Hey! Yes, I did. Following the video worked for me. You have to complete each section and agree to everything. Once you do that you'll see the references section pop up

Hi! does this mean that the statement of intent and summary have to be a combined total of 3000 characters? Because on the website it says just the statement of intent is 3000 characters and theres no character limit for the summary of volunteer experiences. When I went to add both components into the orpas application it wouldn't let me save it because together it equals more than 3000 characters. So would the summary of volunteer experiences be added to "SAM" as a separate doc?

From my understanding, i don’t think we submit a volunteer summary at all for this application (they’re still holding off on clinical experience because of covid).  The person I was emailing said that you can discuss any relevant experience in your statement of intent if you can. UofT asks for your knowledge of slp field for question 4 or 5 i think on the requirements of the letter, and so i talked about the experience i have and what i’ve learned, etc. I hope that makes sense!

Hi everyone!
I am currently freaking out as I have submitted my McGill application; on the "review" page, it said I completed everything. However, I did not submit my transcripts, CV, or statistics outline. I have not yet paid for the application, but it says that it has been submitted, therefore I cannot edit it. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?

For anyone that applied to Dalhousie: Do I have to pay for the application before sending the email? Or can I send the email and pay for the application after? I submitted the first part of the application

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone here has taken the CDA route and is now applying to or has already become an SLP? I’ve decided not to apply this round because I feel that my GPA isn’t strong enough and I lack in experience since I've always been afraid to put myself out there. I think pursuing a CDA might help me gain more insight into the field and while I'm working in a profession I’m passionate about,  it can give me time to improve my GPA. However, I’m unsure if the investment would be worth it. I’ve also seen in a forum that the ENMU leveling program could be a good option for boosting GPA so I’m curious if anyone has experience with that. Good luck to everyone applying :)

I will apply for Dalhousie school in early January. I tried to email them, and I am still waiting for the response from them. So do I need to consider something when I submit the application?

Hi! I haven't done the CDA program but I did apply for it this year as a backup option as this is my second time applying to the SLP programs. I think GPA is also one of my problems but hoping for the best this year! In taking the CDA program, I think it would be amazing experience for sure as I have talked to some other people who have taken it and they have really loved the experience and they said its good prep for SLP. Although, I am not sure that CDA courses can be used in the sub GPA calculation. I could be totally wrong lol, but I don't know if all the SLP programs accept college level courses / references from college level professors. Again, I think doing this program would be a good opportunity and I did apply for 2025, but I also have to look into what schools are / are not accepting from colleges.

I haven't heard much about the ENMU program so I can't really speak on that but would love to know more about this too! Is it just pre requisite courses, or do you also come out of it with a certificate like the CDA program?

I hope any of this helped, lol! Good luck to you as well with your applications in the future :)

Hey! I just wanted to verify: does McGill look at sGPA or cGPA? People I know who were accepted in the past said they used their sGPA but I thought it recently changed to cGPA

Wondering about resume formats... what format are you using for the resume you're applying with? (happy to hear answers from anyone regardless of which school(s) you're applying to :) )

I was planning to do a chronological format because that's how my resume already was, and most of my recent experience is relevant. But I got my casper score back today and unfortunately it didn't go well... which made me think I should do a functional resume or a combined resume so I can try to highlight a variety of skills including interpersonal and communication skills, so that the casper test isn't the only information that they have to try to judge those sorts of things on. I'm sure my work reference will also help with that, but I'm worried this score is going to weigh heavy on my application.

I have over 6 years of experience as an SLP Assistant and I believe the knowledge and skills I've gained from that experience would be beneficial for my success in the program, but I am still trying to figure out how to best highlight that on my resume and in my functional statement.

If anyone feels like sharing what format of resume they are choosing and why I would appreciate it!

Hi! I'm also wondering about this, did you end up finding out where we should submit the personal reference's e-mail? I remember earlier in the year when I had gone on their website they had a form available to click for 3rd references, but it is no longer there.
