Hi all. I'm interested in applying to epidemiology PhD programs, specifically genetic epidemiology/statistical genetics. However, my masters not in epidemiology (genetics). My research background is in computational genetics and aligns very well with a lot of research currently being done in genetic epidemiology groups (GWAS and -omic studies, data integration for translational research). How common is it to come into an epidemiology PhD without an MPH or MS in epidemiology first? How can I bolster my application without going back for another masters degree?
