Just got the rejection letter too :(

Also rejected from JH Implementation Science!

I was impressed by how little effort they put into the rejection letter, but I guess adding some fluff wouldn’t change anything.

My current decisions:

JH: Rejected

Tulane: Accepted

Emory: Accepted

UNMC: Pending

Congrats on 2 acceptances! Did emory offer any funding for you to consider? If it makes you feel any better my Tulane rejection letter was 2 sentences lol.

They did not, but I might not have been considered as I had indicated part-time enrollment - not sure. I’m probably going to try a full-time course load the first semester, so I really played myself…

Does everyone have an idea of where they’re likely to end up? I plan on accepting the Emory Public Health Preparedness and Response offer.

If I don’t get off the waitlist for Tulane and don’t get into UNMC, I do plan to accept for Rutgers. If I end up with both or either of those as options, I will be reevaluating and cost is definitely a factor (UNMC costing the least as they charge in-state tuition for everyone in the program).

Can I ask what made you pick GW over the other schools?

I want to work in health policy in DC! GW has connections with a lot of national and international public health agencies too, so I'm hoping I'll have a chance to do an internship with one of them.

That makes sense. I thought about those opportunities as well. Are you located in DC? The cost is very off-putting to me.

I'm not right now, but I used to live in Northern VA and worked in DC for several years. I agree about the cost; I was living in the area when I did my MPH and wanted to go to GW then, but the cost prevented me from going. I'm hoping the networking piece will help offset some of the costs down the road (although I know this isn't the best time to be in public health!!).

Gotcha. I work for the fed and lived in Silver Spring for a couple years, so I understand the possibilities inside the beltway. Best of luck to you!
