ok nvm on their website it says: "Enrollment fees will only be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, as space remains available in your chosen program."

Congratulations!! What discipline?

I don’t know if I was just clueless but this is surprising to me!! Does anyone happen to know if this is a common thing among MFA programs? I’m sure many accept more applicants than there are available spots in the program but this almost makes me feel like it’s a race to enroll—and I still haven’t heard from several other schools I applied to!

fine arts painting!

Exactly, I still have interviews scheduled with other schools and haven't heard back from all of them either. From what I have heard so far, usually schools have a set number of spots available, and only said number of students are accepted, the other put on waitlist if someone doesn't take their spot. But I am not too sure of that myself

Curious how people are feeling/coping post interviews. I've done 3 so far and while I haven't bombed yet I've definitely stumbled a lot. Trying not to ruminate too much but I'm waiting until March for final decisions... I might go a little crazy!

I just finished my third interview and ya I’ve definitely stumbled a few times. Out of the three I’m still waiting to hear back from two but my first interview reached out and I am waitlisted. I really hope I get in cause its my top pick. Good luck! Waiting to hear back is the worst

After much digging, I finally found it -- "As stated above, historically, the department has been able to provide all of our MFA students who aren’t already receiving tuition/fee remission through central campus fellowships with Teaching Assistant appointments of at least 25% time (approx 10 work hours per week during the quarter) for all registered quarters in the program. Employment as a TA at 25% time or greater provides full in-state tuition remission, as well as remission of most fees (including health insurance.) Additionally, TAs also receive a monthly salary (approximately ~$1889 per month of appointment during the quarter at 25% time.) More info on student academic employment is available here from the Graduate Division.

Thanks for digging this up, I told them I wouldn’t be coming for the interview. It was the same time as my OSU visit lol and I really want a 3 year program so good luck !

Does anyone know how many people typically get accepted into Hunter's MFA program for painting? I was talking to some friends the other day and they said a cohort  is typically around ten or so people? Hunter contacted me for an interview, but after hearing that I'm even more nervous than before...

I think the last batch that was accepted in fall 2024 was around 22 people. They've recently changed from acceptable people for fall and spring to just accepting people for the fall.

Has anyone heard from Pratt (specifically painting/drawing)? Or have any guesses on when they’ll send out interview invites/rejections based on previous years?

I haven't heard from them either. Last year I got my rejection email in late April only after I asked for my application status though.

Accepted into IU Bloomington, very exciting. Does anyone know the stipend amount? Going to visit OSU at the end of the month, I think IU is my only other possibility over OSU. Any input on either sculpture program?

I feel like I might life balance wise enjoy Columbus more but ultimately it comes down to teaching opportunities and $.

When I was researching last year the Ceramics stipend was $23k for 10months. I don't know if sculpture would be the same or different

I found out that Purchase is still reviewing applications.

Has anyone heard from New Paltz yet?

Anyone else waiting for responses from VCU or CCA?

Yes I had a phone call with VCU a few weeks ago, still waiting to hear back

oh I'm surprised you heard from VCU so early. Based on last year's thread they sent out invites between Feb 8-16 so I've got my fingers crossed for this week. I applied in painting/printmaking.

I didn’t apply to NP but I went for undergrad, so if you have any questions lmk! I knew people in departments besides my own (painting)

I haven't heard anything from Pratt yet. Based on the past few years, I think they could send out interview invitations anytime from now until the end of February.

I'm in the same boat. I got in to SVA fine arts painting too and I think it's my top choice but I still want to hear back on my other apps. I still have two interviews and I don't think I'll hear back from all the school for 3+ weeks.

Have you heard anything about financial aid from SVA yet?
