I did this with both Indiana and Ohio. Indiana told me they don’t use any type of federal funding, it’s entirely from the school budget and don’t anticipate any cuts. (the last part I’m sure they couldn’t know about saying firmly no seems suspiciously optimistic lol). Ohio has told me they are “pretty sure” they don’t rely on federal funding for the grad program and will have an exact reply for me soon. feel even more confused about what to do, and trump started another investigation into OSU today.

I really cant take out loans, planned this entire year trying to get in a funded program feel awful right now that it could all blow up. Ditto! If y'all are getting funding offers I would def recommend asking/searching up where that money is coming from (is it from federal grants or fellowships etc). If it's a fellowship (bonus points if its got a donor name attached to it), it's most probably safe since that's usually a private donation/endowment. Also, idk if y'all are keeping up with the news, but Columbia isn't doing too hot right now with how much funding they're losing across all departments from the federal gov (and how much they're being influenced by trump to fire/expel/rescind degrees from students who protested..not a good sign) Lots of schools right now are just also very unsure about how it's going to affect them, like everything is still up in the air. powpow1128 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Hi Guys, I'm applying to MFA photo, waiting to hear back from Parsons, done my interview around middle of Feb. Professor said that I should hear back by March 15, still nothing. I'm lowkey freaking out... Anyone got the decision letter yet?

Hi, I also applied and felt my interview went very well so I would be surprised if I didn't get in -- have not heard anything yet. Maybe Monday? powpow1128 1

I had a conversation with someone a couple days ago and during my interview and it seems like the money I was given is most likely to be secure. I’m afraid of being definite incase I jinx myself lol.. My program isn’t fully funded anyways but it’s on the more affordable side of most programs. Are Indiana and Ohio your top choices?
mmav Posted March 14 Posted March 14 lowkey need UCLA results to come out so people can commit to offers already....(so potential UCSD spots open up for waitlisted peeps)...April 15th is coming up.. Plausiblefox 1

They are yes , I really felt great about Ohio after visiting. Indiana I also felt a good connection with the faculty. Both are fully funded ( for now I guess lol ). I was ready to sign with Ohio beginning of the week then they ended up on the Trump investigation list and I’ve gotten scared and started exploring Indiana more especially after they told me about them not using federal money. sillygooseart 1

Btw if you want to PM me about this feel free to if you don’t want to keep talking on the forum! I’m assuming Ohio will get back to you shortly. On a personal note, I’ve heard great things about Indiana’s program, so incase things end up going that way, you’ll be in good hands! I hope Ohio works out. freshman2024 1

painforever Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Hi, I just saw that MICA has rolling admission, and they also have 2 round which is due 19 march. Do you think it will be crazy to still apply?

sarinnn Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Randomly checked my UCLA application portal and got my rejection letter without notification (applied to DMA, interviewed over a month ago)
ray2 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Any word from UMass anyone? Or should I just give up at this point
VanillaYogurt Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Hoping someone can help with how to go about the financial appeals process... When deciding what to ask for, are you asking them to match other offers exactly? It's so complicated because tuition varies at each school, so I can't figure out whether to ask for the same % of tuition, or to ask for whatever $ amount would make the final amount owed the exact same. 😵💫 kamlee and bluemargo96 2
sarinnn Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Got accepted to Parson's D+T, they offered a little less scholarship than RISD so it's looking like RISD is my best bet this fall. That's a wrap! mmav 1

soeieieieij Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Does anyone know if waitlisted applicants receive financial aid when accepted? I had tried emailing the school about this approx five days ago, but still have no response....
pleasenophotos Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Curious if anyone has thoughts about Parsons vs. Pratt for photo. I have lived in NYC and have comparable scholarship offers from both so am wondering mostly about program and school specific stuff.
Kalonde Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Just got an email notification from Rutgers that I'm on the waitlist! finediningandbreathing 1

I emailed UC San Diego and they told me that if you are accepted off the waitlist you're given the same base full funding package as other students (which is their TA employment rate). I'm not sure about private schools though
