I am so sorry!!! I have been wondering if that would happen a lot this year. Are you comfortable sharing where said this? Still on pins and needles waiting to hear from 3 more...

Thank you!

I really wish I could but I was asked not to publicly share as they are currently trying to figure out whether or not their current students will continue to receive funding and haven't disclosed that information to them yet.  I can tell you that it isn't a program dealing with the literature or ancient history sides of the field and the program isn't within a classics department at the institution.

I hope that info helps a bit!

Follow up on what I said as I cross posted this in both classics and art history and didn't realize which one I was replying too!!

It was an archaeology program within an art history department so as long as you're not focusing on mediterranean archaeology, all's good!

That is very helpful and I appreciate your openness. It feels like such a backhanded compliment to get denied in that way, I hope the clarity of it being circumstantial makes you feel a little better about your accomplishments. Hopefully that fact also means you will be the perfect choice for another program. I understand empirically why this process exists in the it does, but it is not make the next few weeks easy for anyone. I wish you the best, and hopes for a different program to come through for you.

Has anyone heard from NYU IFA or Columbia for PhD decisions? Is it bad news if I haven’t gotten an interview?

The IFA has not interviewed this year but they have already contacted accepted and waitlisted students I think

You’d think they’d just send out rejections if they already sent out acceptances and waitlists :(

I heard that Columbia sent out acceptances as well. I don't know about waitlists. I emailed both the IFA and Columbia to get an update on my application status but I haven't heard. I don't know why they don't just release rejection letters already. These are the only two programs I am waiting to hear from at this point.

Same here. I emailed both NYU and Columbia, and they both got back to me saying they're planning on releasing all decisions by mid March, if not sooner.

Had an interview with Williams this week. I anticipate hearing a final response in the next week or so.

But it's been radio silence from the two MA programs at the Courtauld to which I applied (MA in History of Art & MA in Art Business). Does anyone know when the Courtauld might be releasing admissions for those who applied before January 20th?

I saw somewhere that another applicant emailed the Courtauld to ask when we’d hear back and they said they’d start releasing the admissions from the 24th feb. I’ve not heard back yet nor has anyone on the student room forum so not sure what’s going on.

As of today, the Courtauld admissions portal says I have a conditional offer, but I have yet to receive an actual email with detail.

Congratulations! Where on your portal does it say that? When you first open it? And do you mind sharing which Special Option you applied for?

It is weird because you have to login, open your application, and then click my applications at the top and it then has the message of an offer (at least for me). I applied for the 19th Century Paris-London-New York option. I talked with David Peters Corbett over the summer about his option being a good fit for me as I am planning to specialize in the work of the Macchiaioli (the Italian Impressionists) but no one outside of Italy studies them so it has been very challenging finding professors willing to facilitate a thesis on them.

Columbia sent out rejections for Classics and Classical Studies on Friday as well, not sure why they're taking longer for History of Art
