Just thought I'd post a lil update in here now that everyone's starting to get admission responses.

If you got an admission, congrats ❤️ I hope that you take the time to celebrate this accomplishment. If you've gotten rejected, I'm sorry, but please don't let a rejection/s define you. You are worthy, valid, and I truly believe rejection is redirection.

This is my first year applying for an MSW, but third year applying to grad programs (previously applied to Psych) programs. Originally, profs and advisors told me to apply for MSW programs because of my research interests. I never listened and got rejected from the Psych programs I applied to, thinking no grad school would ever want me.

This year, I decided to take those profs/advisors advice and applied to MSW programs for the first time (accepted to Dal for Fall). Looking back, I would've been miserable in a Psychology program. I'm grateful for my rejections because they directed me to exactly where I need to be.

PS: If you're still waiting for a decision, don't lose hope. A lot of schools will continue to give out responses until the end of April/May.

I’m a fellow clinical psych applicant who has now turned towards an MSW path too 💙 (and yes I’ve worked with many psych grad students who are slightly miserable)

It’s so easy to feel like you aren’t good enough or you’ll never get in when those rejections happen, but sometimes it’s just preparing you for something better or different than what you originally planned.

Anyone here back from WLU MSW Part time advanced standing? I haven't heard anyone get into the PT AS program yet, the wait has been brutal!

I have just heard back from uManitoba and I was not accepted. I'm devastated, since that was my top choice. 🥺

Now all my hopes are at UNBC. Hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.

Me too😞 I’m so demoralized. My gpa is 3.93/4 I genuinely don’t even know how I can boost it to be better and I was told Manitoba pretty much solely looks at GPA. I hope you hear some good news from UNBC

Hi. Has anyone heard back from University of Windsor MSW (working professional)

Windsor seems to be running much later than usual this year. They haven’t even sent offers for their in-person program yet :( I saw someone reached out and they were expecting decisions for working professionals to go out in April.

Has anyone that applied to the UBCO foundational stream gotten an email saying that their application is under review? I got mine January 31 and I've heard people say they hear back soon after they get that email so now I'm getting worried.

I applied, also got that email sometime end of January but haven’t heard back yet. I heard one person got an acceptance a few weeks ago but I also saw on Reddit that they said March/April so could be any day but also might be a few weeks. 🤞🏻this is my first application cycle so we will see :)

I was just waitlisted at UNBC ☹️ I hope they end up calling me, but who knows!

Does anyone have any experience on being waitlisted there or at any other university? Should I just keep waiting for them to contact me for months on end or is there a timeline?

This wait never seems to end

Good to know! They must've sent that email out to a bunch of people at the end of January then. Hopefully we hear back soon!

This is just for advanced standing right?

I believe so. I didn't apply to York, however some of my BSW colleagues did. Not sure if the 2-year apps were also responded to.

I've been waitlisted before (not UNBC, but UofA for their Psych program). They tend to wait till they fill all spots (May/June) and if there are any openings (e.g., someone rejects their acceptance), they go through the waitlist to fill those. So, unfortunately you could be waiting a while 😕

Has anyone heard anything (or is anyone able to make an educated guess) about when U of T will send out decisions for domestic foundational 2 year applicants?  I swear I’m giving myself a stress ulcer from waiting…

Based on the forum last year it seems like people started getting offers around March 18th or 19th so I’m thinking next week? But that’s just a guess and I’m still checking the portal multiple times a day

That's what I'm thinking too! I did just see a post in the MSW Helper Facebook group that someone contacted the department yesterday and said to expect decisions from early-mid April. I hope that it's sooner though. Also very anxiously waiting a decision from them!

Ah good to know! Hoping it’s sooner, the wait is killing me 😂

For anyone curious about York—just got an acceptance call this morning for the advanced standing! When I checked MyFile, the offer was also already there.
