I want to apply for a PhD at Harvard and have just started my a PhD in the UK at Oxford. The primary reasons are as follows:
1. Lack of Funding (esp. as an international student). I have only received very marginal scholarship.
2. Area, Program, and Faculty alignment. The PhD at Harvard more closely aligns with my Master's and overall research interest.
3. Overall Research Development; language, teaching, etc.
4. Funding and Stipends
It was always my intention to apply to US-based institutions during the first year of my PhD as I did not have the chance to do so to allow for time and also use this period to develop my overall research capabilities.
My question is: How would this generally be received by the admissions team and what broader advice may you have for me?
