D1p Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Hey everyone! I thought I would create the 2025 thread for this year's applications.
D1p Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 I applied to Carletons MPPA, UWaterloos MPS, and UOttawas MPA. My applications were completed yesterday and I've just been accepted to UOttawa!

Mine’s been at Recommended for Assessment since November.
D1p Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Thank you! Mine still says preliminary review required.
MrSarcasem Posted March 1 Posted March 1 (edited) Its been quiet on this forum compared to previous years lol. I emailed the program administrator for Carleton's MPPA, and decisions should be going out soon if you have not gotten an offer yet. On a side note, I did get accepted into NPSIA! MPPA would still be my first choice though. Edited March 1 by MrSarcasem Grammar

Anyways, my Carleton status just updated to review in progress by faculty. Hopefully an answer comes soon!
MrSarcasem Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Congrats on your acceptance! Do you mind me asking what your background and GPA was? I feel since my GPA was on the lower end, I won't hear back until further down the line.
LurkingLogic Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Accepted at Carleton MPPA and Munk MPP. Alumni I've talked to have tended to have better things to say about Carleton's job placement + they're offering a much better funding package so will be accepting Carleton. My stats: 3.72 cGPA 3.9 L2 1 year work experience as policy analyst in private sector and federal government co-op in undergrad Strong LoRs Domestic applicant Best of luck to those still waiting on results!
manatallie Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Congrats to everyone who has gotten an acceptance! I applied to Waterloos MPS and Queens MPA — has anyone heard back from either yet?

Not quite sure what it is on other scales but if I had to guess probably like a 3.8/4.0? Other than that I don't really have any direct work experience but I did work as a teaching assistant and had an unrelated office job.

Either way, Carleton was my top choice so I'm happy.
Nobody2025 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I applied to UVic MPA and SFU MPP. Now anxiously waiting for the admission results. Does anyone know about the SFU MPP program in terms of co-op placement? Given the current BC government hiring freeze, which program is better in helping students land a job?

D1p Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 I just got accepted into Waterloos MPS by email but still no offer in quest.
Nsmarty_ Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Just got an offer to queens university MPA. This is my second time applying but first time applying to queens. Just got an email nothing online yet
manatallie Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Also got into Queens MPA this morning. The email says funding info will be released in June which it makes it hard to base a decision on. Does anyone know historically on average how much in funding MPA students receive?

I emailed the MPPA Graduate Supervisor and they told me unofficially that I got into the MPPA.... won't believe it until I see the letter of offer.
MrSarcasem Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Got accepted into Carleton's MPPA today! 6.5k funding which I am pleasantly surprised about as I only had 72% overall and 77% L2 during undergrad lol.
