polsciAttempt Posted Thursday at 09:20 PM Posted Thursday at 09:20 PM (edited) In the informational interview UCLA held, they seemed to imply flights and hotels would be covered. Edited Thursday at 09:21 PM by polsciAttempt LanaFan and tiresias1871 1 1
aurat278 Posted Thursday at 09:32 PM Posted Thursday at 09:32 PM Anyone else receive an invite to UCLA's informational interview but not receive an invitation to visit?

Gotta love the audacity of these schools—expecting applicants to travel unfunded for an event without even an offer in hand. Also, if they’re out here pulling stunts like this, you know the program is underfunded. Can I ask what makes you say this? Is it the disorganization? Or lack of funds offered to invitees? This is the first school I've gotten into so I'm trying to make judgements of their program!

I also wish UWI-Madison would give me my probable rejection already lol but it seems that they take a while after acceptances to send them out. Does anyone know when to expect ANY decisions to start going out for these? UMN's site says "We notify applicants about decisions in early February." However, the GradCafe results have included late January in the last few years, the same for Brown. Meanwhile, Northwestern's decision dates for the last couple of years were late January and their site seems to say they start BY February... yet here we are we no acceptances posted for UMN/Brown/Northwestern... I feel like I'm about to have a lot of emotions tomorrow lol.

edwardsaid Posted Thursday at 11:49 PM Posted Thursday at 11:49 PM (edited) Claiming a UW rejection here. Kinda surprised since I thought my stats would at least make this an easy admit for me. I guess fit really matters. (0A/1R/9P) Edited yesterday at 12:10 AM by edwardsaid LanaFan 1

If it's the latter, I'm also assuming rejection for UW as I haven't received an interview or acceptance.

Also, UW is admitting a much smaller class this year—about half as many as normal because they had a larger cohort last year. I also think they may be doing multiple rounds of cuts and that this is just the first round. I interviewed with UW last week and was told I was in the “long list” and that they would be making a round of cuts this week. My application status hasn’t changed so far. edwardsaid and LanaFan 2

polisci119 Posted yesterday at 01:24 AM Posted yesterday at 01:24 AM Claiming UW rejection too, pretty poor fit, so far two rejections and one waitlist are all from poor fit Unis so I guess fit really matters. 2R/0A/1WL/17P LanaFan 1

polisci119 Posted yesterday at 01:36 AM Posted yesterday at 01:36 AM 5 minutes ago, edwardsaid said: You applied to 20 schools?! That’s wild Yes, since I applied to 7 and only got one non-funded offer last round, I wanted to compensate it by looking broader, while 6-8 of them are extremely poor fits as well, thus I'm assuming more rejections coming in the way. Honestly kinda waste of application fee.

Historically, their decisions have come out in the last few days of January. I was told after the interview that results are expected by the second week of February- but most probably earlier than that. LanaFan 1

jaliren Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Anyone else apply to UCSD and still waiting to receive a decision? I'm starting to assume rejection (or at least waitlist) since numerous acceptances already went out.

Btw it was added 2 days ago, so I thought if it might indicate a decision. Let's see
