Final tally: 5 acceptances (Oxford, LSE, UCL, Princeton, Yale) and 5 rejections (Berkeley, Stanford, Michigan, Harvard, MIT). Will almost certainly be giving up spots at LSE, UCL, and Yale (CP), but very undecided between Oxford and Princeton. Best of luck everyone! When did you hear from LSE and Oxford?
jacksmith98798 Posted March 7 Posted March 7 So the rejections from Georgetown are out. Mine as well. The results page at GradCafe is also flooded. "Thank you for your application to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Georgetown University. This year, the Graduate School received over 10,000 applications for our Masters and Ph.D. programs." LanaFan 1

Is that across all fields in the university? Even then, it seems high.

This cycle was definitely brutal and I don't see it getting ay better next year. Congratuations to everyone who got in. polsciAttempt 1
01anonymous Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) Hi, I just saw an acceptance from the University of Michigan - did you receive it today, or did you accept it today? For context, I am waitlisted and eager to know more if possible. Edited March 7 by 01anonymous Context OP4599 1
jaliren Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) Claiming a Georgetown rejection too (as expected). My application to Penn is still technically pending, but I think that's pretty likely to be a rejection given how late it is now -- so I think the cycle is basically over for me. Feeling lucky to have an acceptance I'm pretty happy with, even though it was far from my top choice originally. Edited March 7 by jaliren

TAN93 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) So with Georgetown done, I have three unis pending, Rutgers, Johns Hopkins and Pittsburgh. I believe Pitt is yet to release its results, even though it's been a while since admissions pause was taken out, but the other two are taking too long to give their decisions honestly. I am not sure if I should email them to inquire. Saw a recent update in the results page of a rejection from JHU, while Rutgers has been silent since early Feb. If anybody has any news about these three that would be really helpful. Having to wait another week for what are most likely rejections is hell. 0a/7r/3p Edited March 8 by Anish93

I think it is the total number of applications for Georgetown's all Graduate programs; seems that the Department of Government didn't even write rejection letter on behalf of the Department

My portal never updated, but I had reached out to the profs that I interviewed with back in early Feb, and they informed that I hadn't made it in. I'm almost positive that all acceptances are out at this point given that their visit day already happened -- so I'd unfortunately likely assume rejection. TAN93 1
PolSciComp Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Hi everyone! Anyone here who has been waitlisted at Washington University in St. Louis for Comparative politics subfield? Could you get any further email or information from the Department?
smoothoperator77 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Saw some rejections of Upenn pouring in. But is anyone still waiting on an official notice?

I just got my rejection, so I'm not still waiting at this point. That concludes the cycle for me: 1a/1w/7r. Honestly, this was a lot more difficult than I expected, and I thought I'd end up with more than one acceptance. However, I'm feeling fortunate to have one offer that I'm pretty happy with at the end of the day. OP4599 1

A lot more difficult than I expected, and I thought I'd have more than one offer as well. But yeah, fortunate enough to prevent a total disaster two years in a row. I haven't received anything from Upenn yet. I'll send an email to check with them tomorrow. If you are attending the open house of AU on March 20th we could see each other that day. jaliren and OP4599 1 1

And I actually didn't even know about an open house on the 20th. Did you receive that info via email?

They should have sent multiple emails about that regarding the travel information and reimbursement for the travel cost.

XYZ_GU Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Hi, is anyone still waiting for an update from UPenn? I saw a lot of rejections, but I have nothing in my email and portal.

01anonymous Posted March 11 Posted March 11 My cycle is officially over today! I got two interviews, two final acceptances, and one waitlist involving 4 different schools! Made 10 applications total! I hope I get in off the waitlist, but otherwise, I am definitely going to grad school this year for a PhD! Excited. Congratulations to all and I hope your wait ends soon with good news! 1251pl Posted March 12 Posted March 12 have you guys received an email that encourages applying for a predoc position at Berkeley? I'm not sure if it's just a generic thing or not

polisci119 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I’m sorry to bring some sad news - Harvard school of Arts&Science officially announced that it will reject all waitlisted applicants due to short of funding, which means no one will be off the list and offered a position. What a brutal situation
OP4599 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 As a waitlisted candidate elsewhere, this is very cruel to hear. Also, unlike other schools, Harvard released its decisions later- so surprising that they didn't consider not waitlisting in the initial round. 01anonymous and LanaFan 2
jaliren Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Also checking in as someone still on a waitlist -- do we think that movement off the waitlist seems particularly unlikely this year across the board? 01anonymous and LanaFan 2
