Anyone got any news from UMD? I saw one person post a result for waitlist but nothing else. Do you guys think it is fake?

Talked to the professor last year and they said that all results would be sent out in the first weeks of February.

Claiming rejections from Princeton and UCSD. Pretty bummed, as those were my top two choices. Hoping for some better news soon.

Maybe they have not formally announced it but this person was informally informed by their POI?

I have the same thought. Last year I was notified being on the waitlist of Duke exactly this way.

Me too for Michigan. Waiting...... 

Do you think it might come on Monday? The past two years they did first Monday of Feb (6, 5), I was expecting it on 3 Feb, but nothing yet, so I am guessing it's next week?

Honestly, I hope not. Their website says "The Admissions Committee reviews applications in January, intending to make decisions by the first week of February. Everyone is notified via e-mail." so I am still hopeful it will be this week.

Apparently there's a second Duke waitlist being posted via portal update (on the result page), so it's official

Yeah, just saw it. So, if these are genuine posts, I wonder if they have released waitlists for all subfields. Also, no acceptances have been posted yet..

Hey! I received the waitlist notification from Duke - it was through the portal.

It is weird that Duke waitlist seems to be going out before acceptances, unless they did go out and no one posted about it?

I’m also waiting on Duke and Michigan…and several others. 😬

It is IR! I got an email to check the portal. I interviewed middle of January and was told I’d hear back in a few weeks. My best friend applied CP and interviewed with a different prof around the same time. Weirdly he hasn’t heard back. So maybe they do it in waves or sent the waitlist first, which is odd.
