Seeing a Columbia acceptance on the results page, but my portal still shows no change in status. Any other applicants to Columbia in this thread?

Applicant to Columbia, no portal updates, haven't heard anything.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Do some programs process applications in batches...maybe depending on the subfield? For example, I have not heard anything from UW-Madison or Syracuse (some people have claimed acceptance in the latter earlier today). I'm just trying to figure out if the radio silence is soft rejection or not being on top of the queue lol

I can't say anything about Syracuse but it might be sign of soft rejection for UW-Madison, based on my previous experience:/

Hmm, I just noticed that my UWI-Madison portal has very recently slightly changed to have "under program review" listed underneath the recent activities sections, not just the fee waiver part that's already been there. However, it's listed as occurring on 12/16 and I still have no acceptance or rejection😅.

Do you guys think Georgetown probably released all of their admission? I don't see a single admission on the result page other than the one for politcal theory.

Hi everyone! I think it was being discussed here before but does anyone know how many students Northwestern admitted for PhD this year, especially for Comparative politics subfield?

I'm guessing today is slow because of the Presidents' Day holiday in the U.S...I would be surprised if lots of decisions don't come out in the next several days though

But many universities still continued their usual schedule today; hopefully we can hear positive news tomorrow

Anyone who applied to more than 10 programs but still waits acceptances? I have been waitlisted at three schools but couldn't get any acceptance yet; I wonder whether this is due to the fact I applied while already being enrolled at a PhD program 😕

This shit boring can we get some post on here or something? Like, what are some things we do when we are waiting for admissions but too anxious to be productive? I read the Mistborn Era 1 series.

Lmao, you're not wrong.

I've got a job that keeps me busy enough during the week but otherwise playing video games, watching TV, and learning to DJ have been my go-to distractions.
