It genuinely surprised me that the forum was so quiet. It has been around three years since I visited this forum, and it was usually very noisy during the application period. I applied to 6 Clinical and 1 Counseling. I did not apply for any PsyD because I am a potential student with limited funding (only enough to cushion fees for a PhD program). I wanted to apply more, but the heartbreak of last year's application to 12 universities and getting no invites at all was too much to handle.

- UT Southwestern (Rejected)

- Texas Tech

- West Virginia

- Missouri Kansas City (Rejected)

- Auburn

- SIU Carbondale

- South Mississippi

As you can see, I have already obtained two rejection emails.

I saw from a forum post in the past (I forgot which specific forum) that most universities invite their students before Christmas. So, if you did not receive anything before Christmas, it is pretty safe to say that you will not receive anything from the university. I would appreciate it if someone could confirm the veracity of this statement. I am asking this forum to confirm the previous statement because one university invited me for an open-day interview in February. However, it definitely made me extremely nervous and anxious because my fate solely depended on the interviewers at this particular university. It is always nice to have something to hope for regarding the other universities' results.

I also noticed the forums are pretty much silent. I applied to 7 last cycle with only one interview.

As it stands, I received 2 preliminary interviews, had one today, and got rejected after the call ended and informed that while I had high-scoring, I did not score enough to obtain a formal interview slot.

These are all of the places I have applied to, I have only heard back from two so far.

- Bowling Green State University
- Drexel University
- George Mason University
- Kent State University (prelim interview/rejected)
- Ohio State University
- Ohio University
- University of Cincinnati
- University of Connecticut
- University of Florida
-  University of Kentucky
- University of Michigan
- University of Mississippi
- University of Pittsburgh
- University of Virginia
- University of West Virginia (interview upcoming)

It does appear that a few universities are already sending out their interviews before Christmas. So I understand your concerns about your fate depending on a singular university. 😕

But, I will not take that statement to heart, there is always a chance you will hear back from other Universities past the holiday season, I assume it depends on how many interview slots professors were given, and I also think that due to COVID shutdowns and many uni's removing the GRE as a requirement that there is a lot more competition for Clinical Psychology positions.

I know that Denver sent an email before the holidays and said they would sent out emails in January. So I would bet there are others waiting as well. Also Uniformed Services University extended their application period to Dec 20 so I did not expect to hear back from them before the holiday.

I applied to the civilian track at USU. I’m retired from the military so going back in is not an option for me. We shall see how that goes. Good luck!

Hello!

I only applied to three: American University, Catholic University, and the Uniformed Services University (military track). Has anyone heard back about interviews for any of these schools yet?

I didn't apply to GW (I went there for undergrad though!) but I saw multiple people on grad cafe posting about GW sending out notices

I received a full-day interview invitation from Case Western on January 9th a couple of years ago and was wait listed (sadly, I didn't get in). The conventional wisdom I've absorbed is that any time in the month of January is fair game for an interview invitation to be sent. Also, a friend of mine just received a full day interview invitation from University of South Dakota sometime last week. So, there is hope!
