socparty Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Hi all - I know not everyone will get into their dream program, so I wanted to pitch our MA program at CU Denver as a potential fallback option. We've had a good track record placing our MA graduates in top PhD programs like Princeton, Wisconsin, Washington, Michigan, Maryland, and on and on. Most applicants qualify for in-state tuition no matter where you're coming from and most courses can be taken online or in person. Students usually complete a grad certificate in social science research methods along the way to their MA, and we have a graduate study abroad program focused on GIS and spatial analysis in Spain + publishing opportunities with faculty. In full disclosure, this is not a "funded" program (tuition runs about $15,000 for the whole thing with in-state tuition rates). We offer small scholarships - nothing to offset tuition entirely - and we can finance the majority of costs associated with conference trips. Faculty specialties in crim & law, health & society, methods, urban sociology, and demography. The outgoing VP of the ASA is on the faculty as well as three book award winners of ASA subsections. Our work is funded by grants from the NSF, NIH, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. If you'd like to learn more you're welcome to email me anytime (adam.lippert@ucdenver.edu) or join our virtual open house tonight (2/12) from 6-7p MST by signing up here: https://ucdenver.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_391f0oZmp7haubQ Best of luck to you all!
