Johns Hopkins DrPH comprehensive exam

I’m a prospective DrPH student looking for clarity about a key program requirement: the comprehensive written exam. There’s very little detailed info on what it’s actually like, so I would like some insight....

1. What Form Did It Take?

   • Multiple choice, essays, data-based questions, policy case studies, mixed formats?

2. How Was It Administered?

   • Was it conducted online, during one of the Summer or Winter Institutes in Baltimore, or as a take-home exam?

3. When Was It Scheduled?

   • Did it fall during one of the in-person institutes? Or was it remote/timed?

4. Difficulty Level?

   • How demanding was it?

5. How Did You Prepare?

   • Study groups, mentorship, sample questions, course materials, specific tips?

6. Pass/Fail Expectations?

   • Were there clear criteria? Any options for retake?
