Courtauld MA - Tom Nickson

I’m a prospective student applying to the Courtauld MA. I know it might be a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Tom Nickson or knows what they’re like as a teacher?

I’m asking because I’ve heard that the professor you have for your MA special topic can really shape your experience at the Courtauld, and I’d love to get some insights.

I don't know him or most of the folks at the Courtauld. However, this is not unique to the Courtauld. This is everywhere. Your advisors and even committee members shape your entire trajectory not only at a specfic institution but also beyond. Regrettably, the number of toxic advisors and programs has continued to increase. This is something most academics have to navigate.
