Has anyone heard yet? I have a POI there who was very positive with me when we emailed and met in person in October. She actually told me in an email that I would be a really great fit for their program and that she looked forward to reviewing my application. That said, I went to a no name undergrad, have an MA from CUNY Grad Center, and my GRE was only 620V, 660M, 5W. Thoughts? Be honest.

Hannah Brueckner. My interests primarily are in sexuality and gender. I want to continue work from my MA thesis toward a dissertation. Some of her work is related.

Hi frenchfries, I applied to Yale too and I don't think anyone has heard yet- looking at last year's results, no one seemed to hear until the third week of February. It's definitely positive that your POI was so enthusiastic about your application! Fingers crossed for us both :)

Thanks, socgraduate11! What about you? Who is your POI? Area of interest? What other schools have you applied to?

Hey there, Yale applicants. It looks like a couple of people have received admissions decisions! On the results page: one accepted, one rejected. Are these real? One of the comments is... weird. If you received a decision, please tell us about it on this page! How did you hear? What was said? What are your stats? THANKS!

I am thinking that both of those are the same person obviously trying to mess with some people. there is no way it's a genuine acceptance, firstly because they accept a cohort of about ten, not one, and secondly it's way too early.

nor would a rejectee magically post seconds after. so i think you're ok for now frenchfries!

Well, I thought they were saying there was only one male in the cohort. I agree. It looks suspicious and I wondered too if it might be someone just messing around, which is annoying. Surely this site has a way to track such things. I hope they only let registered users put up their results.

Based on the reporting on the results page on this website from recent years, I'm guessing acceptances will go out this week or next. None have shown up on the board yet. Fingers crossed!

Congratulations to those accepted!

Is there usually a timeline for how long it takes departments to send out all of the acceptance notifications from the start? Like, I imagine it's unreasonable to assume that everyone who's getting an acceptance has received an email since YDGS just started sending out stuff this AM. Also, those who just received acceptances, are any of you willing to post your stats?

I got into Yale as well. Someone posted that they were offered 5 years of funding. My e-mail mentioned a generous stipend (26,500 per year) but did not say five years. Does anyone know if the funding situation is different for different students. I'm supposed to call the DGS sometime this week so I suppose I can ask myself but didn't know if someone know something already. Thanks!

My fault, everyone! I got caught up in the excitement of the email that I just assumed a five-year funding package. That was not specified in the admissions letter. Congratulations to all those admitted! Any word on visitation days?

Have all of those who are admitted this year received an email already or are there still people out there waiting for an positive answer?

I just found out this morning that I was accepted at Yale with full funding. Good luck everyone!

Hi, everyone. I was also accepted at Yale with the $26,500 funding package. They told me the recruitment weekend will be on March 25th and 26th.

Dear Yale admits,

If anyone is sure they will not enroll, please be considerate and free up your spot as early as you can. I am on the waitlist and I'd appreciate not having to wait until April 15th to hear if I'm in.

Thank you so much!! :)

Would you consider Yale over, say, Michigan?

And ditto for those Princeton admits! Go to Harvard or something!

Incidentally amanda (if I may), I think the soc programs you got into are really awesome! I'm totally jealous actually. I can promise you this, If I ultimately get in at Princeton (please God) you will immediately see a spot open up at Yale. smile.gif

@ Socme - - I would consider Yale over Michigan simply because I completed my undergraduate at Michigan and have been working for the university in various teaching & research capacities since I graduated. I absolutely love Michigan, but it might be time for me to spread my wings.

@ Goingcrazy - - First of all, congratulations on your acceptances so far, and best of luck with Princeton! I hope something opens up for you there. I am very aware of how fortunate I am with my admits, and I'm not taking it for granted! I now have a tough decision to make, like everyone else. One of the faculty I work with at Michigan recently told me that I am "suffering at a high level." :) Again, best of luck with Princeton! Fingers crossed for you!
