Does anyone know much about this program? I'm planning to visit next week, but in general, I haven't been able to find out as much about the school as I have about other places. I'm leaning towards Duke at this point, would like to work in DC after graduation (but who knows where things will go) -- Duke gave me a good fellowship package, but at UCLA I'd have instate tuition.

Anyway, if anyone knows anything pro or con about UCLA, I'd love to hear it! One thing I haven't been able to find anywhere is how big is the UCLA MPP class?

Thanks!

Hey, I don't know much about the UCLA program, but I was curious if you went to the Duke Open House, and what you thought of it?

You can PM me if you don't want to post it here.

I have a friend at USC whom said it was the weaker of the two L.A. programs...

I got in to UCLA, but will not be going. It's just not a good option for me when all the jobs I want are in DC, and the program doesn't appear to be that strong... Their job placements were not overly impressive. But its a good school, especially if you want to live in L.A.

Personally I hated L.A. when I visited, much too plastic, but its all personal taste :)

Erin, I'm from LA (haven't really lived there in about 5 years) and have much the same qualms about the "plastic" element! And while I could see myself settling back in CA sometime down the road, I'm not sure that it would be in LA and I would like to at least start off my career in DC.

Paradox, I'll PM you now -- I did visit Duke for Open House and was very impressed.

Any other thoughts are of course still helpful!
