deemz Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Hello all, I am a recent college graduate with a GPA of 3.73. My GRE score is awful ( a little less than 1000, cause I didn't really prepare for it), but I'm planning on re-taking it to score higher. I didn't publish anything, but I worked in a variety of hospital laboratories for 13 months. The work I did includes processing patient specimens, running biochemical tests and examining bacterial cultures. Is this kind of work equivalent to research experience? Thank you, deemz

Thank you, deemz You are definately going to want to get the GRE score up. For an international the verbal doesn't count as much (take the TOEFL)Abut they are going to want to see mid to high 700's in the quant sections. As far as not publishing, many schools understand that not all undergrads are in positions or labs that would allow them to publish based on how many grad students and post docs are in the lab. As long as you can get strong recs I dont believe it's a big deal.

I was mostly worried about not having done any research. Edited February 14, 2011 by deemz
