contacting advisors

Hi everyone!

I have been admitted to 2 programs so far, and want to contact my advisors to introduce myself, ask more about what they are currently working on and also ask about funding.

How can I politely inquire about funding, if funding was not mentioned at all in my acceptance letters?

I want to wait until i've heard back from other programs, before I accept any offer. How do I phrase that?!

Any pointers would be really helpful!

Just ask.

I was a little apprehensive at first too, but remember that professors went through the same situation when they were in grad school. Every professor I've talked to has been very straightforward and understanding when I discussed my need for funding.
