Anyone out there apply to PhD programs in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in either Social Studies or History? I am looking to apply next fall and thought some of you pros out there might be willing to offer advice. I am currently looking at Stanford, UBC, University of Minnesota and Berkeley. I am hoping to research the topic of history education as a tool for reconciliation and national identity creation in post-conflict nations. I realize these are all top schools, however, so I would love to hear about other schools if anyone has thoughts on that.

My stats:

3.7 undergrad GPA

4.0 grad - M.Ed - social studies

1420 GRE

8 years of teaching experience - Social Justice and History as well as coordinating immersion trips around the world for students.

Again, I would be grateful for any advice. Congrats and good luck to those of you out there going through this process this year!
