Guest Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Who here is applying to history programs for Japanese history? If so, what's your time period/topic of study? I'm curious about who else is applying where and for what, since the field is relatively small. I'm applying for late medieval Japanese history myself. It was a pain to find programs with good specialists!
AliciaRabbie Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I am applying to Japanese history as well, focusing on Tokugawa period especially. Congrats to the big offers you've got! I haven't heard from any of my schools except a rej from Yale : ( Do you know if Harvard has made all final decisions yet? If I'm not mistaken, someone on another thread said that Harvard wasn't done making its offers yet. But I applied to the HEAL program, not History, so I'm not sure what's being talked about. What do you do in Edo history?
kyjin Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I focus on Heian and Kamakura period, though I only have one application left in a history field (Michigan); everything else is in East Asian since my approach is really interdisciplinary.
