UCSD vs UCSB CS PhD

Dear all,

I would like to know what you think. Which school is better, UCSD is in the top 10 in USnews, UCSB is in the top 10 in NRC rankings. I am so conused because both are good schools. My primary concern is university-industry relationship as getting a job after graduation is of utmost importance to me.

Also, if i get an admission into Carnegie Mellon ECE, or Michigan who have higher rankings than those two. Is it better to go for the ranking, or stay in California where most of the industry and silicon valley are located?
