TheGeekMystique Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) So, last week I received an e-mail from CU Boulder, inviting me to attend their open house on March 4th. It's not an offer of admission, but they did offer to pay for my travel/hotel expenses. I responded by sending them my info, as requested, but it's been a week and I haven't heard anything back from them. I saw on the results page that others also received open house invitations--have any of you heard any updates or responses from them? I'm getting nervous; it's difficult to plan for a potential visit when the department won't get back in touch with me. However, I'm not exactly swimming in offers, either, so I don't want piss anyone off by calling or e-mailing them again. Does anyone have some insight? Thanks for your help! Gunner24 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I understand the lingering concern, but you're not likely to piss anyone off by calling or emailing- especially if THEY invited YOU to the open house. It's easy for administrative things like this to get lost among all the other admin stuff these admissions folks are doing, and every school (especially a big flagship like CU) lets things slip through the cracks from time to time. The prudent decision would be to try to get in touch- a huge chunk of their job is communicating with applicants Best of luck- CU is a great school, and Boulder a great town!
Leven2 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I agree with the previous post - I would contact the department. Yesterday (Monday 2/21) I received a follow up email from the grad coordinator about contacting Boulder's travel agency. I spoke with the travel people today (they were super nice) and had my travel arrangements made. I would absolutely say call or email the department if you haven't heard anything, it can't hurt! Hope to see you there
